Autumn Leaves Make Me feel Like Dancing |
| |
medium:
Mixed Media on Box Canvas |
| size:
39" x20" |
This original mixed media painting was inspired by African art and wall painting. I have used this kind of abstraction in the past but this time I have worked to create texture and have tried to give the canvas an aged and leather look. I cannot remember ever working on a single painting for so long as this one. It was created using layers of paint each layer being fixed with acrylic gel then subsequent layers added and in places allowing the underlying colours to show through. |

No attempt made to be realistic. Painted using paint and fingers only so that I could not only depict the power but feel the power. I hope the viewer also feels it. |

Concentration; the practice of centering the mind in a single sensation or preoccupation. I hope that this painting helps the viewer to this sense of peace and concentration. If you look very very closely you will see four small musical staves only one of which has notes on it. (Unfortunately it is very difficult to see this on the site ). The others are waiting to be filled by the music of your thoughts. There is also a texture of square symbolic of the inner being and also the world |

| Autumnal Hedgerow |
| |
medium:
Acrylic on Canvas |
| size:
16 x 20 |
This original acrylic painting was again inspired by an autumn walk. I find it so hard to walk far in autumn I am always captivated by the colours and beauty of the seaon. I have to stop and devour it. This was one of those little moments when nature turned to paint for me and I carried the image to the canvas. I hope it captures a moment of beauty for the viewer. |

Poppies in the Breeze (This Way Peace) |
| |
medium:
Acrylic on Canvas ( Framed and With Glass) |
| size:
16 x 20" |
This work needs little to describe it. It as the title says poppies in the breeze painted loosely to give the feeling of the moment. Having painted them I noticed that there is within it a hint of an arrow hence the reason for its sub title, |

Fractured Dreams |
| |
medium:
Mixed Media on Canvas and framed |
| size:
60cm x80cm |
This painting is a very texture work using a number of different means of adding texture to the canvas. The work is then given a coating of acrylic gel before painting with acrylic paint it is then varnished. The painting although white creates many images during the course of the day with changing light and in the fading light becomes a very new painting. It has a black frame to emphasise the white of the work. |

medium:
Mixed Media |
| size:
18 x 24 |
This original Mixed Media work is on a box canvas painted over the edges so that it is ready to hang. The painting has relief work that catches the light in different ways throughout the day changing the painting all the time. Sand had been added to some of the paint to give further texture and feeling. This unique work will brighten any room with a point of interest. This artwork is to be used as an example of a good abstract to students studying advanced art at a university in the USA |

This painting was a new venture in texture for me. I have incorporated into this painting a variety of ways of creating texture some completely new for me. This of course means that every painting will be a one off, unique. |

| Anicca |
| |
medium:
Mixed Media on Canvas Painted over Edges |
| size:
110 x 76 cms |
Anicca is a Buddhist term meaning that everything is a constant state of change, nothing remains the same forever. This painting evokes a sense of the exact opposite that there are things that never change, and yet there are skyscapes like this all over the world and this represents all of them. 9/11 is a constant reminder that even those are in a constant state of change. The black birds are there as a hint that this scene is changing by the minute. It is a very textured painting and so the |
